Beosystem 9000C

Conceived in London. Born in Denmark.
Soho, London, 1995. Bang & Olufsen designer David Lewis walks past a record shop window and pauses. He sees six CDs in a row. A gallery of album covers. It makes him think: imagine if you could display your music instead of hiding it in a black box. The idea for the Beosound 9000 was born.

Resolutionaire design.
CDs have turned the music industry upside down, and Bang & Olufsen’s Beosound 9000 turned the concept of the CD player on its head with its revolutionary design, first introduced in 1996 at the height of CD popularity. With its vertical disc display, Beosound 9000 broke with conventional black box design, quickly cementing its status as a time-transcending design icon.
